Prescription order line to close please have your say!

For some years NHS Sheffield Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) has worked with Manchester Road surgery to provide a Prescription Order Line telephone service for ordering repeat medication. This service was set up as a test service and has only been available to a few volunteer Sheffield general practices and their patients. The CCG has formally looked for an NHS provider to extend the Prescription Order Line to all general practices in the city but unfortunately has been unable to find one that meets the right criteria.

Therefore, as we are unable to provide equal access to this service for all Sheffield patients, the CCG has taken the difficult decision to stop providing the Prescription Order Line to Manchester Road Surgery patients from 30 September 2021. We understand that this will mean a change to how you can order your repeat medication and we and the CCG would like to know how this will affect you and what support you may need to order your medicines in the future.

Please tell us about how this will impact you by completing this short survey: www.bit.ly/prescription-order-line. Paper copies are available of the survey on request.

Ordering your repeat medication digitally

If you have a smart phone or access to the internet, there are other ways of ordering your repeat medication digitally. These apps connect to your patient medical record: NHS App, SystmOnline and Patient Access.

To register with the NHS App:

Owned and run by the NHS, the NHS App is a simple and secure way to access a range of NHS services on your smartphone or tablet. You can see your available medicines, request a new repeat prescription and choose a pharmacy for your prescriptions to be sent to on the app.

For instructions on how to download and use the NHS App please visit this website: https://www.nhs.uk/nhs-app/nhs-app-help-and-support/

To register with your surgery app (SystmOnline):

SystmOnline is a website and app which allows patients to view their electronic medical record as well as providing other features such as appointment management or ordering repeat prescriptions.
To access this app, you will need to make a registration request with your GP surgery online. The simplest way to start the request is to go to your surgery website and locate the option to register with the surgery online.
